About This Website

This site was created to provide you with information on the ongoing crisis of the mass amount of Indigenous women and girls that have gone missing. For decades Native women and girls have been going missing or have been getting murder and there is not enough media coverage about this issue. This website was created to shed light on this crisis

.

Indigenous women are 10 times more likely to be killed than the average national murder rate.

The Movement The Red Dress project was founded in 2011 but became more mainstream in the recent years

Current public data on MMIWG oversimplifies and underrepresents the scale of the issue, yet still demonstrates a complex and pervasive pattern of violence against Indigenous women and girls who are often targeted because of their gender and Indigenous identity.
